Staff Spotlight: Meggan Delong
Meet our Production Manager, Meggan!
Meggan started working with Ambre Blends part-time back in 2009 when we first launched our Pure Soy Wax Candles. Over the years, she helped out with open houses and in the shipping department during the holiday season. Then, in 2017, she started working in the production department full-time for around two years, continued on making our candles and natural deodorant before coming back in October 2023 as the Production Manager. We're so excited to have her join our team full-time again!
What is a day in the life of Meggan like? I get up at 5am to be at work by 7am. I live in Brownsburg so it’s a bit of a drive. After work, I go home and take care of my dogs, work out, get caught up on housework, and then go to bed to repeat it all the next day - pretty basic!
What is your favorite part about working at Ambre Blends? My favorite part about working for Ambre Blends is the people, hands down! We have a very unique environment.
What is your favorite Ambre Blends product/scent? I’ve been a die-hard Solace fan since Ambre created it! Every day, I use the olive oil soap (Unmasque or Ahnu), Natural Deodorant (Ambre or Unmasque), Skin Tonic before I get out of the shower, Solace Solid, Illuminate, and Solace Body Cream throughout the day.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Working out, DIY projects on my house, going to sporting events, playing games with my family, and road trips.
What has been one of the most rewarding experiences about working at Ambre Blends? I haven’t worked many places where 2/3 of us are women and everyone gets along so well. Male or female though, the family-love is strong. The amount of positivity and uplifting that goes on - I can’t begin to explain it and no one would probably believe me anyways because it’s truly unheard of. Working for Ambre Blends has always come at the perfect timing - this time came at God’s timing and it has been so healing for me. I wouldn’t be as happy and strong today if I wasn’t here.
What's a fun fact about you people don't know? I’m absolutely terrified of the ocean, but when I went to Hawaii in September, I learned to surf and spent two of the most peaceful hours of my life in the ocean. I'm still terrified of sharks, but somehow forgot for a couple hours!
What was your first job? My first job was working at Wood-Mizer Products. I worked the front desk on Saturdays answering the phones for sales and customer service.
What is one thing you want people to know about Ambre Blends? People should be using Ambre Blends because you’ll never smell more amazing wearing anything else. There’s so much love and care poured into the products - starting from Ambre creating the scents to being made, marketed, shipped - the whole process. Being a small company, we all take great pride in our work and love our jobs.
Anything else we should know? I was blessed with the ability to be a stay-at-home mom for almost 20 years. My oldest is now 24 and getting married in September to my very dear friend’s son. And my youngest is graduating college (Liberty University) in May and moving to Washington DC for her internship/job. I couldn’t be more proud of the beautiful women I’ve raised! As exciting as it is to watch them continue finding themselves, it’s just as exciting to discover who I am beyond my role of “mom."
